GES PTA Fundraising
The GES PTA raises funds throughout the year to contribute back to GES in a variety of ways. Each year, we carefully review our goals and fundraising options to select the right opportunities for our school. We work with the GES Principal and staff to ensure that our goals align with the needs of teachers and students.
Last year, our most successful fundraisers were our Read-A-Thon and our Shop & Support Programs. We also hosted a number of events, Spirit Nights and worked with some retailers to participate in their give-back programs.
Based on feedback from our membership, we have opted to not ask the children to directly sell goods or services door-to-door.
Check back for updates on this year's fundraising opportunities.
Another large portion of our funds comes from direct donations, which are tax-deductible!
Thank you so much for your support of the GES PTA and our GES Stars! With your support, we are excited to continue to provide valuable resources to our school.
Scholarship Chair Amber Robinson and President Lyndsey Hill surprised our 2022 GES PTA Scholarship Recipients Kara and Chayse Bothwell! The Scholarship Committee does not see applicant names when reviewing applications and had no idea the scholarships were awarded to sisters until after the winners were selected. What a fun surprise! They each will be receiving $1000 scholarships from our PTA.
Introducing a new member of the GES Family! Thanks to GES PTA Capital Improvements and your support of our fundraisers we now have an official GES mascot! There is a class contest underway to name our mascot. Many thanks to GES PTA Officer Jeena Stephen for making this project happen!
PTA dollars at work! In December PTA purchased a classroom set of ukuleles for the music room from our Specials Fund!
HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Reading Rocks Readathon. We raised $36,778 and logged 159,357 minutes. Our top student fundraisers are Jalen B., Zachary R., and Ella P. These three students got to spray paint Mrs. Hale, Mrs. Menard, and Mrs. Wahpekeche's hair on KGES! The top two earning classes were Mrs. Dugan's class and Mrs. Brown's (2nd grade) class. These two classes got to see Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Menard transform into human pop-its. The top three students in each grade with the most reading minutes logged got their Reading Rockstar medals. The two classes with the most reading minutes logged were Mrs. Gray's class and Mrs. Helms' class. They got to have Mrs. Ervin stop by their class to read a book. And all students got to enjoy popsicles!
Our Reading Rocks Prize Patrol had so much fun this morning handing out the first round of incentives and shopping the book fair with our top earners in each grade. Thanks, Lyndsey Hill, Jamie Horn, and Jenn Vegors. And a HUGE THANK YOU to the amazing Summer Hamilton for spreading so much dinosaur-sized joy around GES this morning. We have raised over $20,000 and logged over 20,000 reading minutes. Let’s keep it up!
More PTA Capital Improvement dollars at work! Mrs. Hale requested funds to have photos printed. This is the first set she ordered and hung and we think they look AMAZING! When you join PTA and support our fundraisers you make projects like this one possible.
Thank you for supporting this fundraiser. All funds raised went to the Literacy Fund!
GES PTA would like to thank Mazzy Signs (www.mazzysigns.com) and the Morris Family for donating a yard sign for Carnival.
We would also like to thank Lauren May and the entire May family for creating the amazing balloon displays at Carnival.
Our Carnival was beautiful thanks to you!
