GES PTAPTA Membership

PTA Membership

Membership is the numerical strength of the local PTA unit. Numbers give might to our voices when cooperating with other agencies and in legislative lobbying.  The strength of the PTA rests in the utilization of its ”people resources” to provide programs and projects that benefit youth, parents, schools and communities.

An active, involved and informed membership can speak effectively with a united voice for all children.

The membership chairman’s goal is to build an informed and participating membership that is familiar with the PTA purposes, policies and programs.  In addition to enrolling parents, teachers and interested community members, the chairperson should contact, recruit and involve in active membership parents and other citizens who may have never before been aware of PTA.

PTA membership is open to any adult and to students in the 9th grade or above who support the PTA purposes and goals and pay the annual dues. The PTA is the only community organization that offers opportunity for membership to all persons concerned with the welfare of children and youth.

While members may join PTA at any time during the year, there are two important reporting dates:

  1. October 8: Membership total on this date for a local PTA determines the number of eligible voting delegates at the Texas PTA Annual Convention.  Fall membership awards and achievements are based on memberships postmarked by the October 8 reporting date.
  2. March 15: Texas PTA membership total as of March 15 determines the number of eligible voting delegates at the National PTA Convention. Spring membership awards and achievements are based on membership postmarked by the March 15 reporting date.

Pay Dues

Our goal is to have every child at GES represented by a paid member of PTA.

Please consider making a donation to help our children.

GES PTA dues are $8 and includes a student directory, only members of the PTA will receive the student directory.
